Website

Website is a collection of Web pages like a brochure (a collection of pages), except that the pages are stored digitally on the Web server. By web server, we mean the computer in which the pages are stored. The website of a company may be stored in its own server or in some leased disk space of some other's (Internet Service Provides -ISP's) server. Pumping the web pages in a server is popularly known as hosting the website.Each web pages of the website is a computer file stored on the disk of the server. The file contains tags written in a codified form, as we shall see, that decide how the file will look like when displayed on a computer's screen using a browser program.
When a web said of the website is accessed through the browser, it will give you information about a person, a company, an organization or an event in the form text, graphics and sound. The first page obtained on the screen on giving the address of the website is known as Home page. A company can use the website like a window in a shop where you display what you want to sell. Websites provide various services such as sale of goods and services, news, directory services etc.
